Happy Sunday! We have been enjoying some
beautiful weather this weekend. We spent
a good part of yesterday outside, so I’m a day late on this update. I am
linking up with Gina from Third Grade Tidbits for Slim Down Saturdays.
This
accountability has really helped me in my journey
to eat healthier and get active. If you
have similar goals, I highly recommend linking up if you
haven’t already.
Ultimate goal: I am
less than 5 pounds away from meeting my weight loss
goal for
my April
wedding. Now I am focusing on toning up
for the big day.
Gain/Loss for the week: I was
super nervous to step on the scale yesterday.
Valentine’s Day, a weekend out of town with lots of eating out, and less
time at the gym made me think I was going to gain weight. I guess I have learned to indulge in
moderation because I still ended up losing 1.6 pounds over the past 2 weeks.

Total since starting: I hit
the 10 pounds lost mark! Less than 5 pounds until I reach my 15 pound
goal. I need to stay focused and not
fall into the self-sabotage trap.
Positives form the week: I
have been saving a pair of shorts in my drawer for over 3 years that became way
too tight. As I
was putting away laundry this morning, I decided to try them on and they
fit! It’s not quite shorts weather, but
I am super excited to see the progress that I’ve made so far.
Something to do better: After
going out of town for the weekend and several after school commitments, I only
made it to the gym 2 times this week. I
feel so much better when I work out every day, so I am going to schedule my gym
workouts for the week and put reminders in my phone.
Goal for next week: My
goal is to be super focused this week on eating
healthy and working out so that I won’t feel guilty while celebrating with my
family and friends at my bridal shower.
I live about 370 miles away from my family and closest friends, so this
Saturday will not just be about my bridal shower, but a reunion as well. I will still try to make healthy choices
(thanks to my mom who is also on Weight Watchers), but I don’t want to say no
to having a fun time with everyone.
One word: “Strong”:
After
making good progress on my weight loss, I am now focusing on muscle-building
exercises to tone up. I love the saying,
“Strong is the new skinny” because it puts the focus on being strong instead
of skinny. I need to keep reminding
myself of this and not focus on a number on a scale.
