It’s
Saturday, so I am linking up with Gina for Slim Down Saturdays.
Updates:
I
didn’t have a huge weight loss this week, but I’ll take it. This week was challenging for me. A sickness has hit my classroom and it got to
me mid-week. By Friday, I only had 13 out of 26 students.
I am so glad that we have a 3-day weekend to rest and recover. Even though I wasn’t feeling 100%, I kept up
with my workouts at home and didn’t derail my healthy eating. Usually when I
get a cold, I fall head first into a plate of carbs in hopes that it will help
me feel better. I made a big batch of
homemade chicken and vegetable soup to eat for lunches and dinners.
Something to Do Better:
I
have been completing the daily exercises from Tone It Up, but I didn’t always
complete all of the sets. Not only do I
want to lose weight, but I want to tone my body. When something gets hard, I
tend to give up. That’s what happened this week with the weight training
exercises. I put the weights down or
didn’t complete the total number of sets.
I want to do better with this next week.
Last Week’s Goal:
Decrease
my 5K time – Last week’s run was much harder to complete than the previous
week’s. I wanted to give up several
times, but I pushed through and somehow decreased my time by almost a minute.
This Week’s Goal:
I
want to try two new healthy recipes so that I don’t get into a food rut. I have
had the same thing for breakfast just about every day and have rotated a
handful of dinners for the past two weeks.
I don’t want to get sick of the healthy food I’ve been cooking, so I’m
going to try out at least two new recipes this week. I’ll let you know how it
goes. I will put these two new recipes
into our meal plan and then go grocery shopping. I really want to limit the amount of food
waste. If I meal plan and then go
shopping, I shouldn’t be buying excess food.

I
love this quote because it reminds me that every small step in the direction of
a healthy lifestyle is a success. Good luck this week everyone!
Ok help me out with this Tone It Up... are the daily things free? I signed up and got a welcome email thing and then every now and again I get something from them but I haven't gotten workouts or anything. Or is that the paid subscription? Have a great week!!

Hi Gina. If you go on their website, you will see the weekly schedule under the Fitness tab. They update this every Sunday. You can click on the day and it will take you to the videos or print outs for each day. There are also additional videos under the Fitness tab so you can click on what you want to work out. I highly recommend the Love Your Body HIIT workout. Good luck!
DeleteLove that quote! Good job keeping up your plan despite your cold. That would have been tough for me. When I don't feel good I crave comfort food. If you find some good new recipes you should share them on your blog. I would love some new choices too! Good luck with your goals this week.

Luv My Kinders
Thank you Laura. I usually crave comfort food when I'm sick too. I will definitely be posting pictures with recipes of any successes I have this week.
DeleteI wish I was more in shape or more motivated so I could do Tone It Up. There are too many things in their schedule that I just know I can't or wouldn't do. At this point, I need classes that force me to leave my house otherwise I'll just find an excuse not to do anything.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your healthy eating goal. There are tons of healthy recipes on Pinterest. Maybe you'll have some luck there!

Teaching In A Nutshell
I love that you're positives are all healthy lifestyle choices. Great job on your losses so far and keep working hard! Going to print out your quote. It's so easy to forget about the little things we need to do each day to be successful on this journey.
